PingOne Platform APIs

PingOne MFA

These workflows show you how to use platform and MFA APIs to perform common MFA actions. MFA use cases often call the following API resources:

Platform API Description

PingOne MFA

The PingOne MFA services provide capabilities for enabling MFA actions in authentication flows, configuring MFA settings and policies, and specifying MFA devices.

Sign-On Policies

Sign-on policies determine the account authentication flow users must complete to access applications secured by PingOne services.

Resources

Resources are the protected endpoints that applications request access to using OAuth 2 authorization services.

Applications

Application resources define the connection between PingOne and the actual application.

The workflows in this section use email for multi-factor authentication. For new environments, the environment’s device authentication policy enables email by default (and disables SMS and voice devices).

These requests require PING_ONE_MFA in the Bill of Materials (BOM) for your environment. To check the BOM for the list of PingOne products associated with your environment, refer to Read One Bill of Materials. If PING_ONE_MFA is not in the BOM, contact your PingOne administrator to check whether your license supports adding this product to your environment.
