# Ping Orchestration SDKs

The Ping Orchestration SDKs are Ping's next-generation client-side SDK family.

They are built around a single orchestration model that works across platforms, so your teams can share patterns, onboard faster, and spend less time on protocol plumbing and more time building great user experiences.

They connect your apps to:

* PingOne DaVinci

  Embed in-app experiences driven by DaVinci flows.

* PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud / PingAM

  Embed in-app experiences driven by authentication journeys in Advanced Identity Cloud or PingAM.

* Any OpenID Connect-compliant server

  Use standards-based browser redirect sign-on with any server that supports OpenID Connect.

| | Coming from the ForgeRock SDKs?The ForgeRock-branded SDKs for Android, iOS, and JavaScript are now deprecated, and will reach end-of-maintenance on **15 April 2028**.See the [Migrating from ForgeRock SDKs to the Orchestration SDK](journey/migration.html) to get started, and check out the [launch blog post](https://developer.pingidentity.com/blog/ping-orchestration-sdks-2-0/) for the full story. |

## How do they work?

The Orchestration SDKs sit between your application and your identity platform.

They handle the orchestration loop, driving your app through each step of a DaVinci flow or Advanced Identity Cloud/PingAM journey all while abstracting away the underlying REST calls, token management, and protocol complexity.

Your server-side flows and journeys can evolve over time with new steps, new multi-factor authentication methods, risk decisions, and more, all without requiring a new app release.

Figure 1. How the Orchestration SDKs work

The overall authentication flow is as follows:

* 1 App initializes the SDK

  Your app configures the Orchestration SDK with your environment, OAuth 2.0 client, and target orchestration platform.

* 2 SDK connects and starts the flow or journey

  The Orchestration SDK opens a session with your authorization server and requests the first step of the configured flow or journey.

* 3 Platform returns callbacks

  The platform responds with callbacks or collectors describing what is required to authenticate. For example, a username field or a FIDO assertion.

* 4 App renders the UI and collects input

  Your app reads the callbacks and renders the appropriate UI to collect input from the user, or the device itself.

* 5 SDK advances repeat until complete

  The Orchestration SDK submits responses and receives the next step.

  If it contains new callbacks or collectors, it loops to collect the new input.

* 6 Tokens are surfaced to your app

  On success, the Orchestration SDK surfaces OAuth 2.0 tokens to your app.

  Your server-side flows can evolve at any time. No app re-release needed.

## What SDKs are available?

The Orchestration SDKs are organized into focused, composable modules. You import only what you need.

Available modules vary by orchestration platform. The table below breaks these out by DaVinci and Advanced Identity Cloud/PingAM.

| Platform | Language | DaVinci Modules | Advanced Identity Cloud / PingAM Journey Modules |

## What value do they provide?

* Integrate once, evolve over time

  Your orchestration flows and journeys live server-side. Update them without touching your app or shipping a new release.

* One SDK family for all of Ping's orchestration platforms

  DaVinci flows and Advanced Identity Cloud/PingAM journeys now follow the same integration model across web and mobile.

* Only import what you need

  The modular architecture keeps your app lightweight and reduces attack surface.

* Universal Services, built in

  Services like PingOne Protect plug in through the orchestration layer. No separate SDK wiring required.

  Learn more in [Orchestration SDKs vs. standalone PingOne SDKs](#vs_standalone) for existing integrations.

* Consistent patterns across platforms

  The Orchestration SDKs for Android, iOS, and JavaScript follow the same high-level model, so your teams can share knowledge and onboard faster.

* Multi-client support

  Run multiple OAuth 2.0 clients in the same app.

  For example, one for primary sign-on and another for step-up authentication, without custom token management logic in your app code.

Orchestration SDKs vs. standalone PingOne SDKs

Ping offers two categories of client-side SDKs, and it is worth understanding the difference before you choose your integration path:

* **Orchestration SDKs**

  Integrate your app with PingOne services *through* a DaVinci flow or Advanced Identity Cloud/PingAM journey.

  The service is invoked as a step within the orchestration layer, not from the app directly.

  This means your business logic, such as when to trigger PingOne Protect, which MFA method to prompt, and so on, lives server-side. You can update the logic without shipping a new client app.

* **Standalone PingOne SDKs**

  Standalone SDKs, such as the **PingOne MFA Native SDK** or **PingOne Protect SDK** integrate your app *directly* with the specific PingOne service by using REST APIs.

  They are purpose-built for scenarios where you want to call a service independently, outside of an orchestrated flow.

If you are building an embedded, in-app authentication or registration experience, we recommend the Orchestration SDKs.

The table below shows the current integration status for each Universal Service:

| Universal Service | Orchestration SDK support | Workaround |

| | Orchestration SDK support not yet available?You have two options:1) Initialize the relevant **standalone Universal Service SDK** in parallel with the Orchestration SDK, where each manages its own session independently

2) Call the **Universal Service REST API** directly from your app code and pass any required context into your DaVinci flow or Advanced Identity Cloud/PingAM journey as needed. |
